My goal:
The promotion of intercultural communication at eye level. The basis of this is intercultural competence.
My target group:
As an intercultural coach, I would like to accompany companies who share this goal and consider sustainable, open-minded and trust-based relationships to be essential for the success of their ventures.
My background:
I was born in India and grew up in India and Germany. I speak both English and German as a first language. My travels often take me back to my father’s country, especially to southern India.
The cultures of both countries have shaped me. Witness to this is on the one hand a flexible way of thinking, on the other hand a pragmatic thoroughness. These qualities are important for the open-mindedness and acceptance that I want to bring to my work.
Moreover, I have suitable contacts at my disposal, who can be approached for specific information in the country.
Personal career:
Starting of as a biological-technical laboratory assistant, I worked many years at various research institutes, e.g. at the Max Planck Institute in Plön and the Biotechnology Center of the TU Dresden. Then in 2009, I started my sole company to become a freelance translator specialized in the translation of scientific and technical texts.
Always in search of new incentives, I absolved the scientific training course Intercultural Coaching at interculture.de e.V. of University Jena to offer intercultural coaching and consulting for India.
So far, I have held seminars/consultations for the BDÜ (German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators) and at the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and technical companies in Dresden.
In 2006, I joined the BDÜ, which is the largest association of interpreters and translators in Germany. The association promotes high quality standards and by its professional Code of Conduct commits members to confidentiality and qualitative appropriateness of their work performance and fees. From 2014 to 2017, I was also the honorary chair of the Saxon Federal State Association of the BDÜ and had the leadership of the BDÜ quality assurance working group.
